Different settings for the same gallery

Different settings for the same gallery
Hi,

Is it possible to have the same gallery displayed using different settings? For instance, have the gallery with a width of 500 and 3 thumbs per line on one page, and show them with a width of 300 and 2 thumbs on a different one?

The reason I'm asking is to try to accommodate iPhone and Android browsers with their smaller screens. So if I detect that the browser is Safari on an iPhone, I can change the width and number of thumbs per line to give those users a better experience.

Thanks in advance,

Wouter

RE: Different settings for the same gallery
Hey Wouter,

I see what you try to accomplish but I don't see a way to make this happen. Each gallery folder has it's own settings and you can't have two different config-files applied on the same gallery.

What happens if you include different "ki_setup"-files for different browsers is that each time a user with a browser, other than the last user's browser type, opens the gallery page all the thumbs would be recreated. It's like a coldstart when you open the gallery for the first time. If you are ok with that, you just have to make sure you replace all the "ki_setup.php"-includes with your browser-aware-version in all the script php-files, which are located in the "ki_base"-folder.

OK, I see how that's a problem. I'll have to ponder the benefits of having one gallery in this light. I can always make duplicate galleries with each their own settings. It would just complicate maintenance of the galleries a bit.

Thanks!
