KoschtIT Image Gallery is a free and open-source image gallery PHP-script. It can be used to add image galleries to existing webpages very easily. The appearance of each gallery can be individually customized. The only prerequisite for using the script is PHP5 with GD2 support. The pictures aren't displayed in an extra window, instead they are opened directly on top of your HTML document. Therefore your website background gets shaded.
There is also an admin panel, which enables the site administrator to write picture comments and edit gallery settings. Gallery visitors can write viewer comments to any picture. Navigation via keyboard is available too. More features are: slidewhows, automatic thumb generation, image to window size reduction, image preloading, previews for the next/last picture, show geotagging information (via EXIF) ...
Demo
In order to get a first impression here you have a small demo. You can show single pictures as well as gather a set of pictures to a gallery.

Hi!
I want to say that script is really awesome and great, but i have a problem.
I put all pictures in one folder, and they are displayed on page, but they're divided into some subgroups. Altought all thumbs can be displayed on one page, only couple ar edisplayed, and I need to use next to see other part. It seems to have something with files naming, but I can't get into it really. What is it? How can I avoid it?
Thx!
» What values do you have inside your ki_setup.php? The number of thumbs that are shown on one page are defined by these values:rnrn$thumbs = 5; // maximal number of thumbs that are shown at the same timern$th_per_line = 5; // thumbs per linern$th_lines = "auto"; // "auto" or a number of thumb linesrnrnAdditionally you may want to change your gallery diminsions - available here:rnrn$fr_width = 640; // width of the galleryrn$fr_height = 150; // height of the gallery

You say to save comments you need to press 'STRG Enter' we do not have this on a UK keyboard, is it crtl Enter?
How can I change php write access to my server?
Love the script, its excellent and free!! a donation is coming your way.
» Thx you mentioned it. Of course it's got to be 'CTRL' instead of 'STRG'. I forgot that when I was translating the page. If you need write access for your server ask your website hoster first. In case you are running apache on your own this thread may be helpful: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=910155
IE 5 supportposted by Gurpreet Singh on 12/03/2008 gurpreet1993[a_t]gmail[do_t]com
The script is damn good.
Hello, my base testing browser is ie5. I think that with a little bit modifications in your script, it can be made to work with IE 5 as well. I would appreciate it if anything can be done for ie5. Even the pictures refuse to show up in ie5. Tell me about any practically possible solution.
» Well, thanks - I'm trying to do my best, but is it really neccessary? Actually IE 5 was released almost 10 years ago. How many users out there are still using it? Merely one in a thousand if I look at my statistics. If I have some spare time left, I will think about it for sure. In the meantime eveybody please get Firefox.

Hello, very nice script ! I did get it running on a site, though I can't seem to work out the picture comments part. I do have direct access to server, but my comments are getting saved, either by adding the comments myself through the interface, or by adding text files in the gallery that I want to comment images. Any ideas ? Thanks.
» Hi. First of all I need to know some more information about your system. Which PHP version are you running?rnDid you read all the FAQ questions concerning the comments part? What happens after you press 'CTRL Enter' when you write comments? Did you see any warnings the script shows you? You can send me an E-Mail with your answers. Also please give me a link, so I can see myself what kind of problem you might have.
Very Nice!posted by Chris on 10/16/2008 globalplanit[a_t]hotmail[do_t]com
I stumbled onto you script while I was looking for a simple php gallery. This is the first time I have actually been impressed enough to leave a comment.
Very nice! I haven't had any issues at all with it... and I test in IE6,7 and Firefox. It is simple enough for my purpose with just enough bells and whistles to make it stand out. Thank you.

Is this script for free?
Is it distributed under the GNU/GPL licence or what?
Can I use it for commercial purpose or just non-commercial?
thx 4 answer
» There is no special license under which the script is provided. It is a private script that is freely available for everyone. There are no limitations in any sense. However if you wish you can kindly donate a small amount of money for supporting the script development.

» If the script is not working, it's most probably that you are using the wrong Doctype. The script needs XHTML strict/transitional to work. See FAQ question one for more details.
