KoschtIT Image Gallery is a free and open-source image gallery PHP-script. It can be used to add image galleries to existing webpages very easily. The appearance of each gallery can be individually customized. The only prerequisite for using the script is PHP5 with GD2 support. The pictures aren't displayed in an extra window, instead they are opened directly on top of your HTML document. Therefore your website background gets shaded.
There is also an admin panel, which enables the site administrator to write picture comments and edit gallery settings. Gallery visitors can write viewer comments to any picture. Navigation via keyboard is available too. More features are: slidewhows, automatic thumb generation, image to window size reduction, image preloading, previews for the next/last picture, show geotagging information (via EXIF) ...

Is there any way to show if there are comments on a picture or maybe the number of comments on the picture on the "front side"? Then users can see if anyone has commented and won't have to click on comments to see if anything has been added.
» If people commented on a picture the comments button on the top will pop down and flashing for 2 sec each time the picture is opened. This way everybody is going to see if a picture has comments or not.

The best stand-alone script for gallery ever. Fast setup, good configurability & wide functionality.
Thanks for opportunity to use it. It's really awesome.
P.S. I made some necessary changes for my purposes (may be you would implement them in release):
- Caching of preview images (with discretion of 300px) for decreasing server loading
- Comment form internationalizing... there was no options to make it through configuration

This is a great script. Am I allowed to create a plugin out of this for Adobe Dream weaver or softwares like this?
